Silfen Leadership Series Hosts CBS Board Member Shankh Mitra '09

Alumnus and CBS Board member Shankh Mitra '09, CEO of Welltower, visited the Manhattanville campus on October 22 for a discussion with current students through the David and Lyn Silfen Leadership Series.

With event moderator Omar Besbes, the Vikram S. Pandit Professor of Business, Mr. Mitra discussed how data and analytics can drive transformative change. He shared his unique approach to real estate, emphasizing data-driven decisions over the traditional location-based model. On business leadership and overcoming setbacks, he advised students to read, listen, and continuously learn from successful people across industries.

Each academic year, the Silfen Leadership Series at CBS aims to enhance the shared access to intellectual capital between students and the leaders who drive organizations, societies, and markets forward, hosting world-class leaders to share their ideas and experiences with the next generation of business innovators.
