Alumnus Daniel Simkowitz '91, Co-President of Morgan Stanley, recently visited the Manhattanville campus for "Behind Strategic Change and Global Leadership: Leadership Lessons from Wall Street," a special discussion with current students hosted through the School's David and Lyn Silfen Leadership Series. The conversation was moderated by CBS student and Silfen Board Member Annie Cui '25.
In his current role at Morgan Stanley, Mr. Simkowitz is responsible for the Institutional Securities Group and serves on the firm’s Operating, Management and Risk Committees, as well as the Morgan Stanley-MUFG Steering Committee.
Starting his career at Morgan Stanley in 1990 in the M&A Department, Mr. Simkowitz has worked in New York, Tokyo and Hong Kong. He was previously the Co-Head of Global Capital Markets and was the lead capital markets partner for the firm’s assignments with the U.S. Treasury and Federal Reserve during the 2008-2012 financial crisis.
At the event, he shared his career journey, insights into the financial markets and perspectives on technology, inspiring students to reflect thoughtfully on their post-MBA career plans and how to navigate the evolving economic landscape.
